Experiential Learner of the Year Award

It should come as no surprise that the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning recognizes achievement in that area.

Brittany Bridenbaker

Brittany Bridenbaker '11, the 2008-09 experiential learner of the year, with Carolanne Marquis, chief operating officer/executive vice president

Each year, an upper class and freshman student are both honored as the Keuka College Experiential Learner of the Year.

Students who are nominated must submit an extensive portfolio in order to be considered for recognition. Their portfolio must document:

  • An outstanding Field Period experience
  • Strong co-curricular learning
  • Community service/service learning

Nominees must also write an essay reflecting on their hands-on learning experiences.

All nominees are honored at a reception each year, and the winner—who is picked by a panel of faculty, staff, administrators, trustees, alumni, and peers—is announced at Academic Convocation each May.
