My major duties were to assist the class by helping the students while doing work, making hand written copies, doing errands, and just helping when I was needed with various things. I also established an adopt a classroom program between the school in the Dominican and a school in Penn Yan, N.Y.
The best aspects were being in another country and experiencing life as an everyday citizen of the Dominican Republic. Also, I loved the kids!
I conducted interviews with individuals working in social services and spent time touring Taipei cultural sites (temples, markets, tourist sites). I also spent time in Vietnam touring villages, Hanoi, and Halong Bay.
Seeing the cultural differences, sightseeing, and learning many new things.
